After giving birth to my second child, Chase, I quickly became inspired to learn something new... how to crochet. I became obsessed and couldn't put down the hook. Before long I was writing my own patterns and it was about that time that I decided to start a blog, posting the patterns I had written... free to anyone.
From there, things took off quickly and before I knew it several hundred thousand people were following me on social media. I couldn't believe it! It was about this time that we started to discuss if there was an opportunity to make money while pursuing this passion of crochet. Of course, I'd have friends or family members request hats, blankets and other items. Some even offered to pay for the items. However, after you factor in time, materials, shipping costs... it wasn't really a "money making" scenario. Ironically, right about that time I received an unexpected check from Google for traffic on my blog / website.
